    Exclamation escape...

So i came home from work yesterday and as usual I did my round of checking up on everybody and when I came to my ten gallon housing my smallest lil' female baby I noticed she was gone after I picked up her hide.

well, I didn't necessarily panic because i only live in a 650sq ft apartment so I looked under the couch since it was the closest possible/comfortable hide area and there she was. I moved the couch over and she was in a defensive "s" shaped striking position. I picked her up fearlessly to show her who the boss was and put her back in her cage without receiving any life threatening bites. Although this time I put a car stereo amplifier on top of her lid to ensure that there won't be a next time.

The thing that got me is she's in a 10gal critter cage with a locking screen top but it just goes to show you these lil' guys are true escape artists...

If anybody happens to find that one of their ball pythons have escaped try looking under the couch (if they are small enough to fit under there). That small tight and dark area underneath is great place to start looking.

Anyways, that was my excitement for the day...

LoL so glad that you found your little one. I have not had Zeke escape but I often see him (in the evening) stretched all the way to the top of his tank nugging around with his nose!

    Re: escape...

I'm glad I found her too! yeah all of my snakes do that same thing. Ball pythons are just notorious for escaping or atleast trying to. But, yeah if they ever get out the first thing is not to panic and to just look under couches and anywhere where it is tight spaced, dark and warm...

But yeah, I'm happy I found my lil' girl. She just shed the other day. she looks pretty!

    Re: escape...

I was actually waiting for my rescue to shed and she shed yesterday so...I'll put some pics up monday when I come back to work. the rescue shed and revealed some beautiful color but she's underweight and I'm trying to get her back up to where she needs to be.I got her for free from a lady who had only been giving her 2 mice a week and she's like 3 ft long so You get the idea...

Anyways, Yeah I'll put pictures of them on monday for you guys to see...
My monster female and my pastel are both going into shed as well...so I'll have a bunch of new pics for EVERYBODY!
