Re: Need an answer fast please!!
They are spurs, remnants of what were legs in the past and they are used by the male to stimulate the female during mating.

what are you talking about joe? all ball pythons have the spurs...spurs aren't a way to tell male from female...at least, that's what everyone here has always said as well as my vet today.

They are vestigial legs, they are used by males to stimulate the female during courtship. In some snakes in exrays you can make out what looks to be acctual leg bones looking like they are attaching to a place where there should be a pelvis but there isn't.

The way you wrote it kinda made it sound like they were retactable or something, as well as that snake is probably too small to be tickleing any females.

Re: Need an answer fast please!!
okay so now I dont know what I have. I do not have anyone that can pop or probe and really do not want to probe. It just gives me the willies. I know that Ken lives here in Tucson and I have been invited to see his snakes. Maybe I could convince him to come here and sex Zeke for me
