Question about snakes weight

So I've been recommending this cheap digital post office scale, DigiWeigh, that's on e-bay for like 30 bucks. It weights upto 52lbs, which is way more than any of us ball python owners need...It weighs in grams, and here's my question/concern...it weighs grams in a 5 g increment. Is 5 grams really that big of deal when it comes down to it? I wouldn't think so..but some people may be anal about the EXACT weight of a snake. the babies i weighed tonight were 115g and 125g...what if one is really 116 and the other is 127....is it a big deal?

I'll tell ya one thing...I went to OfficeMax the other day and saw digital scales that weighed up to 30lbs, and were about $130 bucks...I think i'd rather sacrifice b/t 2 and 4 grams rather than pay that much for a scale!

I just want everyone's thoughts on ~5 grams

This is a good question. I guess it really depends on who you would be selling to. Personally if it weighs more...cool, if it weighs less...eh maybe its on an empty stomach if its only off a little.

On the flip side for my own weighing purposes the scale your talking about would make it difficult to *accurately* track or document weights if one was doing so. In that reguard a few grams could mean alot. I am using a pretty cheap scale and it does not opperate in the mannor your saying yours does, I don't think I would have bought it if it did.

I also have a cheap one a 5 gram difference doesn't bother me.

I have a scale that goes down to a 1 gram or 2 gram increment...however, I picked up the scale when I was still breeding crested geckos, so the gram increments were more important.

If you're selling to people that are just going to keeping/breeding snakes (say ball python size or larger), it shouldn't be a big deal.

I'm not sure about the incremental difference as it would apply to corn snake babies, or like sand boa babies...

i got my digital scale at Linens and Thingsfor $29.99 and it weighs in 1 gram increments( made for weighing food in a kitchen) ... i dont remember how high up it goes except i rememeber saying " i doubt any BP of mine will ever weigh over 3000 grams so this scale should be fine" lol so not all scales are really expensive...
