Elvis
I rescued this little guy a little under three weeks ago. His name is Elvis, I haven't checked him for sex yet...wanted him to get really settled in and all before I go upsetting him too much. He was in a forty gallon breeder tank with no heat. On kitty litter for substrate and didn't have any type of hide or anything, only a large rock in the middle of the tank. He had old poop, urates and sheds laying all over. The guy said he just set the thermostat for the room on 70 for him. He had him for about ten years, he said . Who knows though. Nice guy, but was just really misinformed. This little boy was feeding on live mice (3-4) once a month. After I had him for a week I tried to feed him a medium FT rat. No takers, so I waited till tonight, about two weeks and WHAM all done. It nailed the FT medium rat within seconds. I didn't even tease him with it, just layed it down in front of him and closed the lid. About two seconds later I heard the rubbermaid rattle and within five minutes or so it was all gone. The guy said he wouldn't eat rats, looked scared of them. Oh well, maybe it was the setup .
Elvis is doing great now and here he is:

Re: Elvis
I think he/she looks pretty cool too. I'm trying to find someone local to take him/her right now. We'll see how things pan out though. Not looking to send him/her off without a full vet check and all, so no hurry. Thanks though!
