Unhappy Would my BP eat during sheds?

Rin (BP) has just been shedding recently and this is the first time i've seen her do it, and today is the day i usually feed her.

Well, when i came home with the mouse, she seemed a little intrested at first and followed it, but then after about 15min. she didnt seem to care anymore, which concerned me a little bit.

Is it because she needs to finish off her shedding process before she can eat again? And what should i do with the mouse?

Re: Would my BP eat during sheds?

BPs will often refuse to eat while in shed. Not a big deal...just wait til the next regular feeding day and try again.

As for what to do with the mouse...you have three viable options: Euthanize it and then freeze it for later use. (If you have an animal that would eat a f/t mouse).....find it a suitable enclosure and keep it fed, watered, and happy for a week, then use it again for feeding next week......or, take it back to the store you bought it from and see if they'll take it back. Some will and some won't.

I'd say wait until your bp is done shedding. Your ball can and might eat during the shedding process. Some will, and some won't. This all depends on the individual snake. You'll get to learn your animals shedding and eating habits as time goes on. You can give it a try. If it were me, I'd hold off.
