A radio show my wife and I listen to every morning is raising funds for AT (Ataxia Telangiectasia). The show is awesome and the guys are great, one of them is running in a marathon which is how they got into this fund raiser.
From the "Free Beer and Hot Wings" morning show website:
There is a somewhat fun side that the guys on the show will do something crazy if the goal is met and the more past the goal the more humiliating things they will come up with to do for themselves. Anyway, the main purpose is to raise money for the research to be done. Part of my day is spent doing support in a special ed school, where every student has disibilities. They range from having a chance to actually someday being able to live in group homes somewhat self sufficient to those that will NEVER be self sufficient and always dependent on others to even live. That's why this fund raiser kinda hit home for me as I'm around alot of kids like this every day.Sponsor Zane on his marathon for The AT Children's Project to fund a year long Johns Hopkins University clinical study to help children with AT (Ataxia Telangiectasia). It will take $62,000 to fund the study. The research may drastically improve quality of life for children who suffer from this rare, deadly disease.
If you feel like you might want to throw a few bucks to the cause here is the link:
