Snake noises

Tonight, I heard strange noises coming from my ball python's tank that sounded like farts. I checked his cage and found a larger than normal amount of feces. A little while later I heard the same sounds that lasted about 10 seconds. Is it common for snakes to make these sort of sounds? Is it coming from defacating or is it possibly coming from his mouth?

Yes, they do "fart"..... So yeah...next time you can blame it on the snake! (Makes a better story than blaming it on the dog! LOL)

a mate of mine has a 20ft burm that occasionally farts , jeese its loud lol

Yes, snakes fart. My favorite was when I walked by our ball pythons cage while she was in mid-defecation - she looked right at me and then "pfft!". It was adorable. =)

I'd rather have a snake fart at me than a snake pee on me.

We have a large adult male bearded dragon who is notorious for sounds when he is "going". Not necessarily farts but you can definately hear it... I have to yell for my wife to clean it up or leave the room LOL WOOO STINKY!

Yea mine have farted so loud they have woken me up in the middle of the night!!!
