    Question Chinchillas?

Does anyone know anyting about chinchillas? I work at an apartment community, and one was left behind by some people who moved out. I didnt want to call the humane society to take him, so i am going to bring him home tonight.
He has a big cage, and I know they cant get wet and have take dust baths. Is there anything else I should know about caring for these.
    Thanks,
    Jennifer

    OMG!!! YOU HAVE A CHINCHILLA!?!?
    i LOOOVE CHINCHILLAS!!!!
They are so cute! Your lucky to have one cause maaaannn, they are expensive! Not much to it, one of my friends haves one and i love to hold him all the time. Usually keeps it in its cage and gives it food and water, just like taking care of any other pet.
But i looove how their fur feels!
    YOU ARE SO LUCKY!

    Re: Chinchillas?

Congrats!!! They are great lil' critters! We've got 2... and have really enjoyed their company! When I posted that I came home with the male, several people said that they have them also.. One person said hers was 11yrs? I think!?!?! Anyhoo... Your gonna enjoy it! No/verry little smell... water bottle, a good pellet diet, hay, treats... mine LOVE rasins... and a dust bath 3-4 times a week! EZ! They've got a TON of personality! But, they do poo.... ALOT! So just be ready for that! (But as poo goes... it's not bad at all, clean little pellets) Post some pix. when you get the lil' bugger home!
Grey Scale is a good thing...
