    plain and simple

I wanted to know exatly what a snake cage requires. Temperature, hideunders/foliage etc, water things, etc etc. I know there are a lot of threads about it here, but nothing that is like simple and a list. And i have dialup, so i cant really look through all of them. If somebody could list it out for me, or redirect me to another thread that would be great!

    Thank you all

    Amy

    Re: plain and simple

You can get as simple or as fancy as you want, as far as a basic set up.....our racked snakes are basic and in there you will find:

2 hides...exactly the same tight fitting to the snake....bedding of choice....I use shredded coconut husks but the humidity gets out of control in racks so we switched to aspin.
A water dish, doesnt have to be large enough for you snake to soak in...if your humidity is on target.
    undertank heater....flexwatt...which ever you like.
an accurite to read your temps and humidity and a thermostat to keep then in the zones you set.

Our one tank is "fancy" and we put backing on it some drift wood for her to climb on etc. I'm a chick so I like to "dress up" my snakes homes...so I put safe items in there that arent sharp...cant be swallowed while there eating etc.

Hope this helps...you didnt say if you were asking about a glass tank or not...so I wont go on and on about the lids for those.

Also there is this http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...ad.php?t=30763 at the top of the husbandry page, there is also a link for setting up a glass tank....have fun.
