Hides
My female bp is behaving oddly as of late. She will use her warm hide but will not use the hide on the cool side. She is feeding normally. The temps are stable at 88 in the warm hide, 79 in the cool, and an ambient air temp on the warm side of 83. Both hides are identical. Other than not using the cool side hide, she is fine. It is not too troubling for me but my biggest concern is that she will become stressed from being in the open and not feeling secure. Any opinions would be appreciated.

And are they snug enough that your snake can fit in them snugly. i.e touch all the sides, including the top

Re: Hides
Your warm side could be a little higher...92-94 is best...and your cool side should be bumped up as well...82-84. That could explain why your snake is hanging out on the warm end also.
Also, check your hides...some will prefer the security of one over the other (hence why he asked if they were identical).
And finally, sometimes snakes avoid an area they have defecated in. Check inside the hide for poop or urates or dirty bedding, they could be avoiding that.

Re: Hides
Yes, both hides are identical, and she does fit snugly in the hides. She really does not show preference between the warm and cool side, actually she spends more time on the cool than warm, except right after a meal. I have inspected the entire enclosure and have found no defacate at all. She fed well again yesterday, she is not showing any signs of stress, but I wanted opinions.
