What is Nix? Is it made for reptiles (ie, is it safe to use with reptiles)?

It's for lice on humans but contains same ingred. as provent, but it's mixed with water.

I don't think that will suffice. What's made for humans is made for humans. You need a remedy for reptiles.

The concentration of permethrin in Nix is a little lower than PAM (0.25% and 0.5% respectively), but it has no other active ingredients, so it should work just fine. I have never used it, but I have mixed my own 0.5% concentration from a 10% solution and had very good results. Brian Barczyk mentioned doing the same with good results at the symposium in Daytona, even spraying it directly on the snakes, and directly onto food that was fed to snakes with no resulting harm. Here is a good reference to the use of Nix on snakes. Whatever you use, just make sure the ONLY active ingredient is permethrin at a concentration of 0.5% or lower.

I use Equate Bedding Spray for Lice Treatment that can be found at any Walmart.....works just as well as PAM, but only a fraction of the price tag.
