    Small Victories!

So, some of you know - Kashmire was my first ball python - and my heart! If for unforseen reason - I had to move out all my ball pythons - Kashmire would be the one staying - my sweet, normal alien head ball python!

Last year - Kashmire fasted for six months in a tank set-up - finally moved to a tub and has eaten reliably for me ever since - however, he will only eat one mouse, and nothing more. I still will offer him a second, "just in case" he decides he wants another - after all, he IS a growing boy! LOL

Tonight - for the first time in a year and 2 months since he arrived, Kashmire had two mice! I am dancing on air! I really expect him to go back to one a week - but I'm hopeful that maybe he'll start eating with more enthusiasm! Go Kash!!!!

I bet he was like "OK! OK! I'll eat my other mouse!" But hopefully he'll do it again next week.

Nice, Robin. I have some that won't talk to me for a week if I don't offer the second rat! Others just won't have any part of it.

Congrats on the "small victory." It sounds like your persistence really paid off.

Thats great!! But if your worried about him not getting enough food try feeding a slightly bigger food (so he doesnt have to eat two meals per feecing) like maybe 1small mouse a week. My snake will not even think about eating 2 small rats per week so he has 1 medium per week which is perfect for him
A weird thought past through my mind.
Just thinking if the Police Raided my home, they'd see a 14ft retic slithering around, a large redtailboa, a large Ball python who acts like a lap cat, and a corn snake who thinks he can make a nest out of my hair... and if they went inside my garage and checked inside my freezer... they'd find dead bodies.

    RIP Billy

Way to go! I think I'll always have a special place in my heart for my first BP too. I only have the one for now, but that will change very soon.

He's picky about his sizes too - a large mouse is refused every time - I'm getting ready to start breeding some rats - I'm hopeful he'll switch, but as long as he gets one item a week - I'm happy!
