For only the first few years or so, whenever I fed Tilly (currently 5 years old) a f/t rat (which he always eats), he constricted it. Now for the past few years, after I put the f/t rat in the tank, Tilly comes cruising out a few minutes later, inspects the rat for a few more minutes, and then starts to eat it, WITHOUT constricting it. My predicament is whether that is "ok?" Does it really matter whether he constricts or not, because I guess he knows by know that he doesn't need to waste energy contricting the rat, he can just eat it. But is there anything to be worried about? Should I start to waggle the rat in front of him to get him to constrict it? But then again is there a point, cause he will eat it anyway, without constricting?
