FIRST...thank all of you for your help and advice. I am doing my best to nurse "Caress" back to health. I am having trouble keeping the right temperature in her enclosure. I have two "under tank" heaters, and one heat light. (The later of which I am alternating between a bright bulb during day, and a "black light" bulb at night.) I read here and learned that the thermometers that (are sticking) on the side of her aquarium are not the best way to regulate heat inside because they only measure the temp on the surface of the glass. I am working on finding an "Accu Rite". (Stinkin' Walmart!) I am also covering the top of the aquarium with a towel to hold some heat in. i made a "hide" for her and keep it on the side of the enclosure with the larger of the two UT heaters...
The past two days, she has not gone in her hide, she is restless and moving around a lot. At one point she was resting on top of her hide instead of going in it. I have kept the enclosure clean, and free of "droppings" as well. The thermometer on the side of the tank has ranged from 87 to 77 degrees (glass surface) I suppose my main question is...should I be alarmed about her restlessness? (Is it an indication that she is getting stressed or too cold?)
Thanks Again...Dennis
