    Question How many mice??

I have a 2ft ball whom I have had over 1yr . She hasn't grown much and I am wondering what I can do to get her to grow faster..
Im feeding her 2x a week full grown live mice.

How long does it take for a python to mature? Why does it take so long!?!

Well all snakes grow differently. You just may have a male on your hands, people always say females will grow bigger than males. But I havent met many people who have a female over 5ft long like my male Bp. I've met quite a few people who have had larges males though. Funny huh? Well if your snake acts hungry during the week (like 3days after feeding) then you may need to bump up the food. Like a small rat per week? probably should make it f/t if your snakey is truly 2ft long. Are you just guessing or do you know for sure its 2ft long? Sometimes they may seem shorter than they really are. Never powerfeed your snake. Jut let the snake grow healthily, and if by chance you have a small female just let her grow naturally. By her 3rd or 4th yr she should be bigger by twice atleast!
A weird thought past through my mind.
Just thinking if the Police Raided my home, they'd see a 14ft retic slithering around, a large redtailboa, a large Ball python who acts like a lap cat, and a corn snake who thinks he can make a nest out of my hair... and if they went inside my garage and checked inside my freezer... they'd find dead bodies.

How big was the snake when you got it, and how old was it? Are you sure it is 24 inches or are you guessing? I don't think that's abnormally small for a 1-year-old ball. I'd personally pay more attention to its girth than its length to judge if it is being under/overfed.

All of mine that age and older are on 2 medium mice a week - and some are gaining 100 grams a month - in fact, my first female just broke 1000 grams.

Are you weighing and measuring yours, or taking a visual guage of her growth?

    Re: How many mice??

    She's a female..
I measured her yesterday, she was 2ft 3in
She's getting thicker but it's taking her sooo long to grow.
When I got her(last late August) she was about 1ft 6in aprox. 4mos old..
Less than 1ft a year is normal?? If so, snakes grow SLOW.

First 5mos I was feeding her small feeder mice once a week. Then BIG mice every 10days for 7mos and I finally started feeding her decent Med. sized mice every 5 days just the past 4wks.
Just last week during shedding, I had a second mouse out for my roomates Retic. and my BP finished her mouse, slithered over to the other mouse and snatched it right up. It helped her dead skin fall right off and she was much more active.

I am measuring but not weighing.
