    humidity guage

My acu-rite is the thermometer/hygrometer setup, and I have it on the cool side. The humidity that it is showing on it is 47%, but I mist the hot side once a day and stuff. Anyway, does the acu-rite measure the ambient humidity, or can it only measure the humidity on the side that it's set up at?

    -Thanks

Off topic....but what is the model number of your acu-rite? I can not seem to find one with a probe that does humidity and temp on the probe.

Did you check Wal- Mart and Lowes?? You can order one off the internet.

Now to the OP, See the little part of the thermometer that has 3 slits?? That's where it measures the humidity.

It doesn't measure humidity from the probe, but from the unit itself. The probe only measures one temperature.

So it is likely you may have a variety of humidity "zones" in your enclosure. 47% is fine unless the snake is going into shed, btw. If you're curious, and you know your temps are dialed in steady...you can always move the unit to different spots in the cage every few days to see if the humidity levels differ.
