Rubbermaid dilemma
I currently own a 90qt - 31Lx12Wx12H Rubbermaid container for my adult almost 5ft. female ball python. I'm need to upgrade to a larger tub but can't really seem to find one big enough. My local Wal-Mart and Target max out at the 90qt. I've searched Rubbermaid.com and the biggest so far I've found is:
112QT - 34.1x18x15.9in
http://rubbermaid.com/rubbermaid/pro...d=HPProd100255
96QT - 33x16.7x13.6in
http://rubbermaid.com/rubbermaid/pro...d=HPProd100261
95QT - 36.3x15.8x13.5in
http://rubbermaid.com/rubbermaid/pro...d=HPProd100257
28GAL - 33.6x21x14.8in (Seems oblong)

Really don't want to order a Rubbermaid through the Internet but definitely will since I don't have $200 for a boaphile. Can anyone else post the size of tub they use for their adults, I may be getting pulled in to the quarts size and not paying attention to overall ground length. What is an appropriate size for vertical height?
Thanks

Re: Rubbermaid dilemma
Why the new tub?? Someone correct me if I am wrong....but 31x12x12 is more than adequate for a grown BP that size....

Well, just seemed like there is absolutely no room when you put the warm side hide on the left, then water in middle, then the cool side hide on the right -- all the space is gone. Also, people post that they use those kitty litter pans for hides, but I tried to set it up at wal-mart to see how they would look in it and theres no way I could fit 2 in there with a water bowl. Everything just seems scrunched up.

Get an underbed box, like this one:

The 1995 or 1996 will house ANY adult Ball Python even your big girls. What you want is floor space, and those tall tubs just have alot of air space. In those two tubs, they will have plenty of room to stretch out, and also enough room for 2 hides/water bowl. They are also easier to keep ambient temperatures up as the short height allows better heat retention.
I heat mine with a 1ft piece of 11" flexwatt for the warm side and a 2ft section of 11" flexwatt for the cool side. It is run off of a Herpstat 2, and temps run low 80's for ambient, 84 cool side, and 94 warm side. Everyone is happy

Re: Rubbermaid dilemma
Those are ok, but the latches just seem flimsy to me. I like the 1995s and '96s as the latches on the end are very durable. If only those stupid wheels would go away, it'd be a perfect tub. It's hard to find 1996's around here though, and when you do find them, they are around $12. Bleh!
