    What would you do?

My BP has been fasting for about eight weeks. I want to switch him to a tub from his glass enclosure, but am not sure whether I should wait until he has had something to eat first. He is about eighteen months old and has maintained his weight over the eight week period. I just don't want to risk extending his fast by moving him to a new enclosure.

Mine went on a fast while in a glass tank. It was just a few days after I switched her to a tub that she went off her fast and has been pounding her rats ever since. Take from that what you will.

Is their a reason why he has stopped eating? How long have you had him? Has he ever eaten for you? What are your temps on his enclosure? Is this a baby or ? Give us some more info and maybe we can get a better idea and help you out here.Until you figure out why he will not eat i would not move him.

    Re: What would you do?

Kashmire fasted last winter for about six months. I switched him to a tub set up, let him settle in for a week, and he's been feeding every week since. Just another testimonial to switching to tubs.

While Kashmire was in his glass tank, I had others in tubs and they never missed a beat all winter. That's what finally got me to make the move with him, rather than to continue to wait it out.

I gave you an age. I've had him for over a year. Has eaten every week since I got him (with the exception of the last eight). Temps and humidity are always perfect. Still an active and healthy snake.

yeah I think its hit or miss with the glass tanks, I have my 4 in there own glass tanks and they all eat like crazy BUT one. We are getting our Ap T3 in about 2 weeks so I am hoping this will help her get out of this eating strike.
