Not as fancy as the Caulker Cay I still plan on, but a cute little boa nonetheless!
Meet Irwin the rubber boa named in honor and memory of the late great Steve Irwin who was all about educating people on weird "scary" animals and appreciating all animals... even and especially the not so very fancy ones like this little sweetie.
He's so itty bitty... I got a few pics and a quick vid and am now leaving him to settle in. His current hides are WAY too big for that itty bitty self, so I cut a hole into the lid of an old medicine holder thingy. He remains unimpressed and would much rather hang out on/in the inner lip of the rubbermaid lid.As long as he can't get out that's fine, but he's so little I'm worried he'll find a way. I'm keeping an eye on him and so far so good. So sweet and mellow and feels SO surreal. Crazy smooth and soft. He needs teensy hides, poor thing. I underestimated his bittiness. He was born in March of 2006, still just a wee baby. When he's all growed up he'll turn a dark mossy green... right now he's a sort of khaki. Any tips for micro hides?
Didn't think I'd be able to get anymore snakes before we move, but rubber boas don't even need a heating implement and is just so tiny, doesn't take up any space at all...
Here's a quick vid of the little guy... and some pics!
