She's gone!!!!!
I just went to do my daily check up on Goku and Chi Chi. Somehow Chi Chi got the sliding top about an inch open and is gone. I've already started looking. Have any of you guys/gals had an escape before? If so, where did you find your baby at?

Re: She's gone!!!!!
Oh yeah....when one of my guys escaped, i looked everywhere...turns out, he was very close by.
Make sure you do something about that escape route..she'll remember it and escape again if it isn't secured
good luck!

Most ofen, they are found within 10' of their cage. And when you're looking, if you look at a space and think "Oh, there's no way she could crawl in/through/under there..." then check there! They can squeeze themselves under and into the most amazingly tight places...and if she finds a tight little hidey hole, she'll likely stay there for awhile.

Yup. Looks for things that are warm that are near the tank.

Re: She's gone!!!!!
Found her!!! Sure enough, just about 10 ft away. She was hugged up behind the computer tower. Good thing she didnt try to go under the door and leave the room. There would have been a 70 lb pitbull on the other side running around. Thanks bp.netters. I still dont know how she could have gotten a sliding lid open unless I didnt push it all the way closed so that it locked. I think Im gonna by some bungy cord or something similar to help keep the lid nice a tight, just to be safe. Thanks again everyone.

Re: She's gone!!!!!
Mine has escaped twice. The first time he was gone for 2 months. I had given up hope. I had even moved to another apartment. Then I got a panicked tenant who moved in after me. She said there was a snake in the apartment. I ran there and fond him very cold and scarred by what I can only assume was either rodents or hot pipes. I held him close to me and warmed him up. He healed and is very healthy now. His scars are barely detectable. The second time he escaped I faound him a few days later in the bathroom on the wicker shelf. The wall heater was on in there. I think that drew him in there. Now I have barbells on the lid of his enclosure and he hasn't escaped since.

Re: She's gone!!!!!
i lost my corn snake like that before... and never found my poor sid...how secure are those metal screens that have the clamps? i replaced the window screen off the tank that my ball had when i first got him...he was tearing holes in it and i took out the statue they had in there that he was using as his leverage... it was ghetto fab to say the least... he has scars on his eyes from what i can assume is from gettin out of that window screen... in fact thats why i took him in is because they couldnt figure out why he kept gettin out and was tired of dealing with it... really sad tbh... thats why i asked how durable are those screen lids they sell for tanks?

Re: She's gone!!!!!
my ball pushed the screen lid to the side once and got out and i woke up to catch her in the act. then i had about 15 lbs of weights on it, now, my 2 month old boa is in that tank with 34 lbs worth of weights
