    UTHs: heating my home!?

I swear, it seems like my tanks' UTHs are heating our house. It is pretty chilly out today, and I have been in/out all day doing work/cleaning (yeah, that's how I spend my days off.) Anyhow, it seems oddly warm in the house, warmer than it should be without any heat on; I wonder if the heat's being retained from our undertank heaters? Some are the stick-on ones, others are flexwatt; is this possible?!
Last fall, we only had 4 going; now the number is 6.. and the non-stick-on ones are larger; I really wonder if they are contributing? Not to mention, this is an ancient (well, old) drafty farmhouse; I haven't been cooking or anything.. it should not be this toasty in here. I wonder..?

You should see how much a couple of rooms full of freedom breeders heat things up!! ... Totally possible.

They do. The rest of my house stays about 74 in the summer, the bedroom (where all 15 herps reside) stays around 80.

    Re: UTHs: heating my home!?

yeah... I imagine they work the same as space heaters kind of. I have not had tanks set up here through the winter in Wisconsin so we will see. Maybe it will lower my heating bill!!! Of course at 40-50 (windchill) below it will take alot of heat to make a difference....
