    Red face Southern Yumminess

I don't know how many of you are familiar with the southern tradition of batter-frying, but basically it's like this: Hand us any food product and we will batter it and deep fry it.
Every year at the Texas State Fair, we are introduced to a new fried goodie, and this year? It's FRIED COKE! I don't know who comes up with this stuff! A couple of years ago it was ice cream, last year Twinkies....and now Coke.
For the record, fried pickles and brocoli are pretty darn good.

O.K, I'll bite- how do you fry coke? Is it frozen and batter dipped, or is it just a fried coke/batter mixture?

From what they said on the news, first they mix some Coke with some funnel cake batter, fry dollops of that, then pour Coke syrup over it, topped with powdered sugar and cinnamon.

I think we're trying to evolve into an oil based life form.

And yes, fried pickles are to die for, especially dipped in Chipotle Ranch.

A quick Google and I answered my own pondering! Oh, and I was wrong on the toppings. I probably will give it a try, just to say I did
