    Boas and Pythons

I currently have all my ball pythons in my room and was thinking of adding a kenyan sand boa to my collection. My question is would it be safe to keep the boa in the same room as my bps? I can assure you all that none of my snakes are kept in the same enclosure, just the same room.

    Re: Boas and Pythons

I would keep the little guy quarantined in another room for a little while, just to make sure that he doesn't have any bugs or illnesses or anything---but your supposed to do this with all snakes.

Keeping boas and pythons in the same room won't hurt anything. I keep a boa and two pythons in the same rack... no problems.

As long as you quarintine them before you place them in the same room everything should be fine.At one time i had several boas, corn snakes ,ball pythons,a burmese python and a retic all in the same room .My rodents are even in the same room as my snakes.

    Re: Boas and Pythons

It's fine.I keep boas and pythons in the same room.

Just keep the new addition in QT in a different room until you are sure it is healthy.

After that, you can move it to the "community" room.

I wouldn't do this. My opinion, and I value every one's above mine highly. But I would never do this. Boas can live their whole life with IBD...they are a "common carrier" of the disease. Pythons cannot, they die quickly. I wouldn't do it. Others have done it (just look above) and they didn't have any issues and probably won't. Not worth the risk imo. Pythons in the front, Boas in the back! haha.
