    thermostat question

i am looking into getting a thermostat maybe. i don't have a lot of money at this time, so im debating in getting a zoomed repti-temp 500r, or using a basic dimmer switch. If i have a digital thermometer with a probe then i could use a dimmer wired up for 2 uth's for now right? i'm trying to save up money to build a custom enclosure for my bp, thats why im not looking to spend over 50 bucks right now. I know that sounds bad, but she needs a bigger tank asap. thanks

    Re: thermostat question

a dimmer will work, you just have to monitor the temps and adjust them alot more! save up for a good stat like ranco, helix, etc.

yes, each cage must be set up identical! same heat source and same size cage.

    Re: thermostat question

I would use a dimmer for now. Those Zoomed 500's are crap. Go to mgreptiles.com. Matt could help you with all your heating and thermostat questions and supplies. I just ordered more flexwatt and a Johnson thermostat with the power strip.
