Help!

Ok, I posted this last night but didn't get really any responds, so I was hoping that maybe this time I will. I have a 20in baby BP named Rin, who eats regularly and is very outgoing and gentle, but I'm worried abou her.
The reason is, I have a 15 gallon tank with a heating pad and 75w heat lamp on one side (the heated of course), a wooden hide box (now currently on the hot side), a water bowl in the middle, and a paper towel roll (Rin likes to hide in it and roll it around) and a cardboard hide box on the cooler side. The warm side is about 92 in the day and 84 at night, and the cooler side about 80 in the day and 75 at night. The problem is shes ALWAYS on the cold side! Shes never anywhere near the warm side unless I put her there or if shes getting a drink. At first I thought it was she didnt like the cardboard hide, so I switched them to see but it didn't make a differnce. It worries me because whenever I pickher up shes freezing, and I don't want her to get stressed or sick. So I was wondering if this is something to be worried about or not.

why are you dropping the temps at night? that could be part of the problem. if you have a problem with heat with just a UTH, get one of those infrared heat lights. they can be used 24 hours a day and allow for viewing at night. i use one in my BP tank along with a UTH and my temps never go outside of 89-91* on the warm side. 84 is too cold at any time of the day for the warm side unless you are breeding(which you obviously aren't)

Prolonged exposure to temperatures in the 70s will lead to an RI...not to mention that a daily fluctuation of temperatures that severe is no good for the snake and will probably contribute to some added stress. If you can try to find two identical tight fitting hides and correct your heat issue it would definitely help you maintain a healthy snake.

Thank you so much! Someone told me to drop it a few degrees at night, like it would in the wild. But I guess they were wrong, thanks for helping me out.

Remember comparing to the wild isn't going to work, they are in captivity so what happens in the wild isn't happening in a glass tank or a plastic tub, so no night drop is needed...stable temps 24/7. Just wondering what you are using to measure your temps and humidity with and how accurate it really is.

I have a thermomoter on each side of the tank, near the bottom on the outside that sticks to the glass, and to be honest nothing to measure humidity yet, but I think the humidity level is good because she already shed fine (no help needed from me and a wet towel).

Go to Walmart and look in the interior lights department and get an Accurite digital thermometer/hygrometer. It is the best 12.99 I have spent on this tank yet. It has a probe with like a 6 ft chord so it gives you plenty room to move around. I send mine out the top of the tank from the cold side and drop it back in on the warm side and just put it on top the substrate on the warm side.
