    From what I've read here in other posts, until you can see the male's hemipene locked with the female, you can not be sure.

    I was just going to say your exact words .If you can just sit and observe them you might be able to see the males hemi penis.Its a kinda reddish looking wormy looking thing.Yea i know i am going to get picked on for my description This being a family like setting its the best i could think of .
