A Question for Chicago Herpers
Hey,
I'm about to move into the city in the next week or so for school and was wondering what pet stores everyone in here, who lives in Chicago, goes to. I'm definitely looking for a place to purchase feeder rats and also just a good all around place for supplies, preferably in the Lincoln Park area since I'll be living there. Thanks! Also, it'd be great to keep in touch with people from here that are living in the area (Lincoln Park) to go to reptile shows and such. Hope everyone is doing well. Later.

awesome! definitely going to hit up that show. closest one to me is one on a regular basis about an hour away so this one looks much more convenient. thank you and i'd love to hear from more people in the chicago area, and any other area anywhere 'cause you gotta love snake lovers.

If you can get there, head out to www.allanimalexpo.com That's the new website for Lee Watson's Reptile Swap. You should be able to pick up almost everything you need and it'll be cheaper than going to the pet store.
Lincoln Park area.....I'm not sure, but you might not be too far from the Chicago Reptile House, in Orland Park. The owners are great guys, and they help put on the NARBC show every year. They also breed ball python morphs.
Actually, I bought my first ball from the Chicago Reptile House.

If you can, it's also pretty cool if you can make it to the Chicago Herptological Society meetings or the TARAH meetings (held the friday night before the first sat swap of the month at 7pm).
I usually don't make it to the CHS meetings becuase it's a long drive for me in the middle of the week. I usually make it to the TARAH meetings though, and the next meeting is a show and tell

Re: A Question for Chicago Herpers
The CHS meetings can be a bit more academic. The tarah meetings are more aimed at the average herper. TARAH doesn't have the big showy presentations, but TARAH has no membership dues, and therefore cannot aford to do so.
