concerned

ok i just bought a ball python about 2 weeks ago. It looked fine when i bought it,i did the normal checking required, and i bought from a store with a very good reputation for keeping reptiles. recently i noticed one of the eyes has a "dent" in it. the pupil still moves and he seems to see just fine. is this something i should be concerned about? or should i wait till my snake-"howard(h.p.lovecraft)"-sheds to see if it pulls the eye back to normal?any advice is greatly appreciated.

What is your temps and humidity set at? Sounds like low humidity.

Mist that kid and make sure you keep a nice size water bowl in the enclosure.

temp has been around 80 degrees and humidity has been 50 to 60%. i just bought a new heating pad so i hope that makes some difference.

What are your temps? What type of enclosure do you have Howard in? What are you using for heat? Your temps need to be around 90 to 92.If you are using above heat light they tend to lower your humidity.Did the pet store give you any papers on the proper ways to care for your new ball python? I think your posts need some more whiz-bang, you put him to sleep!

There's a suggestion in the FAQ about an eye-dent, and I experienced one too. What I did was give him a damp hide for one night. A damp - not soaking wet, just damp paper towel in his warm hide should do the trick, that's what worked for me! He should be tickety-boo by the morning
And some info on your setup would probably be much appreciated

i use a 75 gallon aquarium, and i use a heating pad for sore shoulders,etc. it covers approximately 1/3 of the bottom of the cage.i also keep part of the water dish on the heated side of the cage.and i keep a large sheet to cover the the screen top.the temp/humidity seems to stay the same on both ends of the enclosure.thanks all
