Cool Eh just me wanting to know a few things

So while I was surfin' the web I came across this place, and it seems like there's a bunch of enthusiastic/knowledgeable people, so I figured I'd try my luck with a few questions I have. First of all I bought a bp about a week and a half back, she was captive bred and all that good stuff, and was already pretty tamed. I got her set up in her new home, and within three days she had eaten her first feeder mouse. Anyways that sounds all fine and dandy, and it's probably me just being cautious, but the breeder said she may or may not have been fed the day before I actually bought her. I'm just wondering how long is it cool to have your snake go without actually "going" haha Also, when someone "pets" the snake, and it's body like shifts like it's being tickled, is that them just trying to move away from the idiot thats treating them like a dog or what? Well hopefully someone will actually read this and give me some of their time, thanks and all that shizam in advance
    Well that's interesting...

Usually snakes go every 2 weeks, so its ok. Maybe even more!!

Do they poke her her? That might be the problem.

I've learned that snakes will go when they have to go and they will eat when they want to eat.

The petting seems kind of normal. I've known a few that do this, including my guy.

Yea definitely don't set a time frame for finding poop, the only time I would start to worry is if your snakes tail area seems to get larger than the rest of the snake. At that point I would soak him in warm water for 20 minutes and hopefully that would loosen up all the business.

Depending on the amount they are eating and the rate of growth, your bp may go every 2-6 weeks. I think I noticed mine going about every 4 weeks on average. I would encourage you to feed once a week, and keep a record of the feedings and bms. (for you peace of mind and for general knowledge of you snake) Here's a good download that can help.

Also, sometimes they absorb all the nutrients so there is not much left to poop out.

Thumbs up Re: Eh just me wanting to know a few things

Young ball pythons tend to absorb majority of there meals. You might only see a white clump(bones) for some time. Then if you tend to feed them to large of a meal then you will see some poo also.Like everyone says here relax your snake will poo when its ready to poo lol.Welcome to the group

Talking Re: Eh just me wanting to know a few things

Concerning the "tickle" thing, my balls do it, too. I don't know if they like it or not. Sometimes I'll stroke my finger down their sides and they scrunch up like it reall does tickle them. They really don't seem to mind though. My boy seems like he accutually enjoys it. Sometimes he comes back for more. And my girl has a habbit of rubbing her face on my hands and I pet her chin. I guess I do treat them like dogs...
