    Recommendations...?

I've been doing some looking around on the internet, trying to decide what to do. Here's my dilemma:

I have a very nice 30 gallon long aquarium just sitting empty in my apartment. The long top is covered by a wire mesh screen. I was wanting to sit this aquarium up on it's side and get an arboreal display animal of some sort. I was thinking about putting Pinky in there, but it's an awful big space for one little gecko. I was also thinking about getting a cham, but I don't know if they could deal with only one side being wire.

So I'm looking for recommendations. Snakes, lizards... something arboreal that could live in a 30 gallon space. Thanks in advance!

    Re: Recommendations...?

a collared lizard would be cool. the 30 gallon would need to be on the right side though.

ive heard that putting aquariums on there side to not be a good idea. something about how they're designed to hold the weight on the side they are. ive never had any experience with putting them on the side so i cant speak from experience.

Stick a beardie in there. What are the dimensions? Don't even need to flip it. Don't they sell cages made for arboreal reptiles?

If it was small enough (10 gal) you could get an arboreal Tarantula.

a crested will do fine in that cage. they really like going vertical. i would get what ever reptile interests me the most and plan the setup around that. imo, planning your animal around what extra tank you have might not be the best idea in the long run?

    Re: Recommendations...?

I know a person should get an animal that they would love and enjoy. And I'm still leaning towards a carpet python because I think they are beautiful.

But the idea of a Russian Tort never entered my mind... and I've considered a beardie. Started the thread to circulate some ideas. Thanks all!
