How long would you hold a snake?

I was wondering how long everyone would hold a snake for someone? I will not say the persons name or what site they are from.I have held 1 of my female ball pythons for well over a month for this person.So far i have heard the payment is on its way 3 times and so far nothing has reached me.I understand something happened the first time when the payment did not arrive but 3rd time now and still nothing.The payment was sent out Saturday and its now Wednsday and nothing.I do not want anyone thinking i am being a jerk by posting this in a thread.I think i have been very understanding here.Thanks for any replies.

I would hold a snake for one month with a first deposet of the shipping price. if one month goes by with out a 2nd deposet on the snake the deal is cut and the snake goes back on sale. onec i get in to breeding and get in a nice stock I will have my website finaly up and running and that will be under my payment link and or terms of service. I would also make it clear that after one months time the shipping payment is non refundable. Keeps people from trying to mess around with you.

People have situations and expect to have the money, but then something a little more important comes up. Give it a month, tops...surely there's a legit reason s/he's not paying. If s/he is given you money in the first place, i'm sure their intentions are to pay it completely.

Well i have tried numerous times to get the persons address for shipping reasons.I have never received anything in return.I have no problem holding something but with no responses to where they want the snake shipped makes me wonder if its legite or not.I know the person reads my messages but for some reason they do not let me know anything.I could have sold this snake along with the other female ball several times.I told them one was on hold so they went elsewhere,now i still have both.

Depends on the person, depends on the snake, depends on the deal ... I've held animals for 8+ months with no deposit, no payment, etc and have had great deals as a result. I've also had to send out certified letters via the US postal service to get in touch with people that "disappeared" and had their cell phones cut off and email addresses vanish.

It's all personal judgment.

Well i was just contacted by the person.It seems he/she has problems with there computer.So i will wait until this Friday to see what happens.I also gave the person the option to just cancel it now its there choice.Like i said i thought i was being ignored here.I will update on what happens.

i always try to set a limit on all transaction that i don't do in person. i write into my sellers agreement that after a set abmount of time (30 days, 2 weeks it depends on the item and how many offers i think i'll ge tfor it) the courtesy that i am extending to a buyer is cancelled and the item is back on the market.
