Switching feeding times question....

Yes, I know, switching feeding times isn't a good idea, but it is unavoidable. Both my husband and I will be gone 3 weeks from now on Dax's normal feeding day, which is Wednesday.
Here is my question: Should we gradually in the 3 weeks we have, move his feeding day? The last night we will both be here is Aug. 7. Should we gradually move his feeding night to Monday (which is what the 7 is) or should we feed him a smaller rat on Aug. 2 (the Wednesday before) and then feed a smaller rat again on the 7th? We will both be back by Friday afternoon, and our roommate will keep an eye on his temps and water, he just isn't up to feeding him. I want to disrupt his schedule as little as possible, but this can't be helped. In case you are wondering, my husband has to go on a business trip, and I have to go to Indiana and stay with my Mother for a few days after she has surgery. Thanks for the help!!!

I'd just skip him that week altogether. Its not going to hurt him, and will probably just give him and extra week to be extra hungry. Kinda keep him on his toes!

I would just skip a feeding on that day if you are not going to be around. Missing one feeding is not a big deal.

Mina i also agree that its ok to skip one feeding now and then.He just might be a little snippy when you get the chance to feed him lol.If you think about it in the wild snakes do not eat consistantly on the same time frame.We spoil our snakes and keep them on a schedule when its food time.I hope your mom recovers well from her surgery,give her our well wishes

Dax isn't full grown yet. Is it still okay to skip a feeding with him? He is 10 months old, about 26 inches long, and the last time he was weighed it was 233 grams but I'm sure he weighs more now.

I have had a smaller ball python fast for just over 2 months and then he started eating again, so It would not be a problem to feed him a week or two later (or more, even).

When we went away for two weeks recently we arranged for someone to keep an eye on Monty and top up his water etc but he wasn't fed - it did him no harm at all.

I also can't see the harm in channging feeding days around a bit - after all nature doesnt run to schedule. I feed Monty on the weekend - thats usually a Sunday evening but saturday Friday or even Monday evenings are fair game too I wonder what the old hands think about this point, but I can't see the snake fussing
