ID That Snake...
This was in our ATV this morning! I inadvertantly took him for a ride to take the garbage up the driveway; Mark opened up the front trunk thingy and there she was. I have NO idea how she got in there; it is water/air tight...! Now the question.. what is it (besides in shed?) Patternless Garter?

It looks like some sort of chicken or rat snake

Re: ID That Snake...
I guess it threw me off, because the garters I usually see are either checkerboard-patterned or striped. In lieu of putting him back into the trunk where he would probably die of starvation, we let him go by the side of the house, so he can hibernate in the dirt-floor basement

Haha, I live in Central NY and those are ALL over the place. They are neat little buggers but they musk like crazy. Nice find.

your lucky the little guy let you pick him up, all the garters around here are very aggressive. They always seem to try to eat you.
