    a little blood...

Angel my 2 month old BP came back from the vet healthy but today I'm seeing a bit of blood come from her vent. Should I take her back to the vet?

She is not gushing, or oozing just a little red.
    thanks guy/gals

Did she just shed? I know once in a while right after they shed you might see a little blood there from the old skin.

yeah she did just shed. but I would think it would have stoped by now. She is'nt leaving blood on the news paper but I picked her up to clean her cage and her vent opened and there was blood visable.(sp?)

    Re: a little blood...

Was it blood? Or pink/red tissue from inside the vent area? Sometimes they will open their vent if very stressed and evert all or part of their sexual organs. You may have just gotten a glimpse of that. It could be mistaken for "bleeding," I think. If you just leave the snake alone when that happens, it'll be fine.

And I'll be up front to say that I'm not all that familiar with this phenomenon, but I believe I got the vague details of it right. If I'm confusing this with something else, I'm sure someone will step in and correct me.

no but she was probed one last time to make sure that she was in fact female. That was what Ben told me.
