Small bug in the cage should i worry?

i just got home and checked on monty and he seemed to be fine he popped his head out of his hide to see me and out of nowhere i saw this little bug crawl across the paper towels in front of him. I kinda panicked and killed the bug but it was very small a tan color and longer than it was fat as soon as i did tht i took him out of his cage and checked him out to see if there was anymore on him he seemed to be ok so i then proceeded to check his cage and i also found nothing. could it be possible that this was just a lone bug crawling through his cage? I've never dealt with mites before so I'm not sure what to do. The last thing i want is for my snakes to be ill so please help me!

If you are worried about mites, try this. Get a plain white paper towel and spray it so it's damp. Not wet, just damp. Then wrap it wround him, behind the neck and get him to go through it like he is passing through a hole. Your hand will be the tunnel.... when he has passed through it, look at the paper.... if there mites on him... then you will see them on the paper. Also check the crease under his lower jaw. Mites like that spot.

It doesn't sound like mites, but try that. It might also bring some piece of mind to you also.

I dont think its mites. A lone ant or bug or two have crept into my snakes cage( leaving me to wonder where the hell it cme from), just make sure to always check.

it wouldent hurt to use some prevent-o-mite in his cage. it will kill any bugs that get in his cage for like 30 days. good stuff. it wont hurt your snake at all. just fallow the directions on the can.
