    Louisiana Snake Regulations.

I can't believe I forgot to post about this, even though I know that it doesn't affect most of you. But, HB783 which was in the Louisiana Senate was Subject to Call. Well, the Senate convened on Monday July 19th, and the bill was never called. That means that we beat it down for at least one more year. This Bill could have made ownership of a non-indigenous constrictor illeagal. Obviously, this bill was absurd due to the blanket coverage of so many species of snakes. We fought it all the way, but it passed the House, passed the Senate Natural Resources Committe, but it DIED in the Senate. I guess I get to live in Louisiana for at least one more year.

Daniel went to speak at those hearings I believe. I guess things went well. Glad to hear it.

Excellent news, at least for now. But keep up the fight! I imagine that one will rear its head again in the future.

    Christie,
Daniel did not speak, but was present, as was I. We were there as a show of force, and to turn in our opposition cards. When you go to a Senate comittee hearing, you turn in a card that states wether you are against or for the proposition. The tally of those cards is documented with the bill, so that in the future, opposition or favor can be reviewed.

Great news! I think the ban on non-native constrictor species is just completely retarded. Dont the legislators have better laws to write for anti-child molestation or murderers??
I love how they slide the laws into place as quietly as possible as well..
