    Using sheds?

I woke up this morning to a pleasant surprise: Monty was done with his first shed (in my keeping) and it was a perfect, carefully rolled one-piece beauty (with remarkably little reek). I was thinking of mounting it on some stiff paper, but I thought I'd see what others have done (other than measuring it, of course). Any fun ideas for what to do with a nice shed?

Well I like to use them for decoration.. especially ones that have patterning in them. I drape them over things and whatnot.

When kids come over to see my collection and they really love the snakes, I offer to let them have a nice shed to take home. They love it.

    Re: Using sheds?

I'm sending my most recent sheds over to this nice lady here to make paper out of, and she's going to send me some sheets of paper with my snakes pattern in it. I thought that would be rather cool, to see what this artist does with them.

    Re: Using sheds?

I don't remeber where I saw it, but this one artist took clear glass vases and glued sheds or pieces of sheds on the vase, then painted it and then glazed them....really cool lookin one of a kind pieces. I also give sheds out when I do my education thing at schools, and there's a guy I saw on ebay who does some kinda art with it too, and I sent him some too.....plus I have some "strategically placed" on a piece of colored board and framed hangin in my snake room, then I have a big one from my BCI tacked on the wall.

I only keep certain sheds like extra long ones and first sheds.

    Re: Using sheds?

Wow, I love the idea of putting them on a glass vase! I am definately going to try that one.

    Re: Using sheds?

Putting it around a vase definitely sounds like fun....or perhaps on my empty-wine-bottle-cum-candleholders.

I don't know if I'll ever stop keeping the sheds...at the moment, though, these are the first I'm getting from these kids, so they're definitely keepers!
