Is this a nutty idea ("out of season breeding"?
Is it possible to breed at different times of the year, other than the usual fall breeding season? I was thinking; if a breeder was able to do this, he/she could possibly bring in more money at different times of the year; is this just impossible, or something to think about?
It might be impractical, in that the eggs may hatch in cooler weather, and shipping would be tougher in northern areas...?

What makes you think that breeding the traditional way brings in "less money"? ... The ball python market is strong enough that gimmicks like that really aren't needed.

Speaking of the market... besides the whites (albino, piebald, leucistic), what other morphs do you think will be the longest lasting for popularity and price? I love recessives, which generally retain value, and the latest and greatest are the Genetic Stripe and the Patternless. Or is there just so much demand for anything irregular that it really doesn't matter?

there are so many morphs now! and alot more to come... i think there is a "flavor" for everyone. i see recessives and combos retaining value longer, imo.

I was just thinking that usually, BPs are worth more as they get larger and closer to breeding weight (especially females.) So if your females hatched a few months earlier than everyone else's, you could possibly get a little better price for them than everyone else at the same time they're selling theirs.
But I am by no means a seasoned breeder; this was just a thought!

Re: Is this a nutty idea ("out of season breeding"?
an interesting question. I won't claim experience I don't have either but my main thought about having offspring to unload say durring the winter rather than the spring/summer may pose some problems for breeders who rely heavily on non-local or show sales. There's an obvious risk of shipping in cold weather and I would like to think that breeders just plain wouldn't do it. Of course there are those states that don't have much of a winter...unfortunately here in MI winter we never know what we are going to get or for how long!

It is cyclical
So you decided to breed in june instead of waiting till fall, is your female above weight or below weight? Did you delay her breeding from the previous fall, or breed her ahead of schedule for this fall?
If I have balls hatching out in june-august, and the marketis flooded, I spend the few dollars to feed them until early spring and sell them as a more expensive and larger animal and even someone breeding ahead of time wouldnt be able to get as much as I would for my larger specimen

I don't plan on breeding out of season; just an idea I wanted to toss around
So I guess my question was answered.
