    med rat

anyone have a good picture of what a medium sized rat should look like compared to a large rat. I know this sounds stupid but i swear out local (not really that local) give us large rats every time we ask for medium!!!!
Our female ate her self a huge rat last night and it took her about 40 minutes to get it down. It was a F/T and it was larger then my pet rats, which to me are on the large end. She ate it and Im happy but I dunno if i should down size.

    anywho...
if ya got some pics...please post em!

Rodentpro.com has some great pictures of the different sizes. Keep in mind that there are a lot of different opinions when it comes to rodent sizes.

You could always ask for small rats instead. Based on everything I've read, I'm of the opinion that BP's do much better on smaller-than-standard meals...especially if they are eating weekly and regularly.

lord, Rodentpro.com would call my rats, double XL.
Since she does eat each week, I'll ask for a small like JLC suggested.
She wont be as full but she knows each week mammas got a yummy treat thawing for her.

Lol, that sucks. Whats good about the petstore I buy mine at, it's like a candy store. They have the cages lined up from pinkies to double xl rats. All you do is go up to the guy and pick out the ones you want.
