Snake Tricks..
I've read in a couple places that people use crumbled up paper in the snake's enclosure for some reason.. i was just curious as to why? What do the papers do.. and how do they help the snake feel more comfortable and get less nippy?

Re: Snake Tricks..
It acts like a nice hiding spot. Makes them feel more secure and less vulnerable and exposed. I use it for several of my snakes, and I have seen it help them calm down.

oh ok..yea i figured it did something like that. do you think it helps the snake want to be out in the open more? as oppose to hiding in its hides all the time? and how does it help nippy snakes not be so aggressive??

More than likely a nippy snake is not an aggressive snake. It's most likely stressed out and defensive. By providing more cover and sense of security, you allow the snake to relax a bit. That way it can become more used to it's environment without feeling like it's about to become lunch.
Now there are some snakes that may have a quirky behavioral issue, but I think those are rare.

Re: Snake Tricks..
ok..makes sense now. thanks for the insight. i dont really have that issue with my baby.. but i think i might throw a few balls in there anyway just to that added comfort. she seems like she's pretty comfortable because she loves to poke her head out..and she comes out and sits on top of her log when there are alot of ppl around. but hey..i guess it wont hurt to have them in there for a bit.

Re: Snake Tricks..
If you decide to put them in there, do not remove them all at the same time. Only pull out a piece or two, so has not to leave them feeling naked all of a sudden.
