    The housing you DON'T want

This is going back to the owner. It is what the cutie below came in. These go for $130 at a local store - but it's not the price markup that bothers me so much as the "built in heat" you see below.

Would be at all surprised that is the sort of thing that caused the burn and subsequent long dorsal scar on our BP Orlah. Not a good set-up at all...what were they thinking? Gorgeous snake though Matt....nice!

ACK! I wonder how many animals have severe burns as a result from others who have purchased that. What are your plans for the cage of death?

Give it back to the girl - she's moved her BP into a sterilite so hopefully she's got no further use for it. Doesn't seem like it would be too much trouble to mod a screen around that thing . . . but it would be easier and safer yet to just remove the whole socket.

Why don't you keep it, take that light socket out and put a RHP in it? It'd make a nice home for your Tokay that way.

It completely boggles the mind that anyone even remotely familiar with snakes would make and/or use a cage like that.

She wasn't home when I came to pick him up and a friend of hers had it ready to hand off that way when I pulled up - ws blocking traffic so just popped it in the back and jetted. I'll be returning it to her when I drop off her first payment in rats hehe. It would make a decent tokay enclosure though without the bulb in there - I know he'd spend all his time hanging around along the inside of that upper front lip - he's a shy wallhugger - think I am going to mount him half a pvc pipe along the walls in a couple of spots to accomodate him - I hardly ever see him on the ground unless he's chasing food.
