    Good breaders for normals?

Anyone have a recommendation for breeders that deal with normals? Seems alot of the websites I checked out don't even list non-mophs. I want to get 6 females. I have $800 to spend and I'd like at least 1 to be large enough for the next breeding season while the rest I would just like to be >200g. I'm going to a herp show this saturday and if I don't find what I'm looking for there I will order what I need. I found a handful of ads on kingsnake.com that look promising, but its hard to tell which breeders are reputable. I want CBB only.

Any suggestions for breeders you guys have dealt with and had good experiences with would be great!

    Re: Good breaders for normals?

I don't have a specific name to suggest...but I would highly recommend simply calling around to various breeders that you know you can trust. Many of them may have normals available for sale, but because of the work involved in constantly updating a website, they may not always list them.

Not only does calling them give you a chance to find out...but it also gives you an opportunity to speak with them and build a good relationship.

$800 might get you one adult breeding size pair and a bunch of youngn's.If you don't have any luck at a reptile show, try Adam......but I've been shopping for breeding size females and a lot of breeders don't want to give up their girls, so pickins have been slim at reptile shows. i'm in PA too!!!!..oh, and be careful on KS!!!! I've heard horror stories........

I believe Bob Clark usually has normals availible. In a couple months the market will be flooded with normals. I would keep checking kingsnake and watching for deals.

The market is never flooded with female BP's normal or not that are almost to breeding size. They are simply too valuable to be all that cheap or widely available in great numbers....well unless they are recent imports and that's a whole new topic LOL.

I meant it will be flooded with hatchlings. Heres a link to a place that has a 10 lot of last years females.

A little more than you want to spend spend but you could always sell a couple to make up the difference.

    Re: Good breaders for normals?

The Snake Keeper (www.ballpython.com) has normals for sale, but my favorite breeder is Adam (8 Ball Pythons) . He's local to me, sells great animals, has helped me tremendously with advice and f/t prey items, and is an all around great guy with extensive knowledge. But everyone's advice here is good. Just email or call some reputible breeders and check with them on what they have available. That's what I did before deciding to roll with Adam.

    Re: Good breaders for normals?

Well I just made arrangements to purchase 4 hatchlings from a fellow member on here so that leaves me with a $600 budget to get my other two females. If I don't find what I'm looking for at the herp show this weekend I'll start calling dealers.

I absolutly love my breeder guy. However, he is in Columbus Ohio, and he only deals with his own CBB at his store. His information is below. You can give him a call and see what he has in...

His name is Terry. His store information is listed below
    Captive Born Reptiles
    1259 Morse Road

In fact, I just called him and he said he can supply your whole order of what you are looking for. The one female ready to bread next season and the 7 females under 200grams. So you can give him a call. Tell him Mackenzie sent you!! Thanks

If you're willing to consider well-established CH babies - Ballroompythonssouth.com has a very nice looking 855 gram female for sale for $200. I have one of their snakes, and she's doing great for me. In fact, most all of my females are well-started CH babies and none have missed a meal for me.

Here's the direct link to the girl:

Also, Will Bird of http://www.ectotherms.net has a few '05 girls still available. You can contact him for weights - again, these are well-started CH girls. The bulk of my females are from Will - in fact, I've got five more coming from him in the next few weeks.
