ball python might have RI plz post

ok my ball python did not have a good first shed cuz i was gone and noone was there to raise humidity so he/she has eyecaps well tonight i soaked him and pulled off the eyecaps but as i was putting him away he kept breathing through his mouth every so often and it sounded like a kind of had a hard time breathing like a crackling noise from his nostrils when i put him up to my ear
so i was wondering if maybe he got a bit of water in his nose or something while soaking or maybe he's got an RI.
my humidity is around 50 to 60 and temp is fine so any help would be awesome.

How long were you gone for?

Never forcefully pull a shed off of a snake. Especially the eye region. You could do some serious damage and the snake could go blind if you are not careful. The crackling noise could be due to shed pieces stuck inside of the nostrils.

If you think that your snake has an RI, you should take him or her to the vet ASAP. Only a qualified professional should diagnose your animal and not someone sitting behind a keyboard at home. We can only dish out good adivice

Since he/she did not have a full shed it might have some old skin left in its nose area.Take a wet paper towel and rub GENTLY from the nose towards the back of its head.If the snake starts to act stressed stop and place it back in its enclosure.Keep a close eye on it for the next 24 hours,if it has old skin left it should try to rub it off. Also listen to see if its still making that noise and breathes with its mouth open or has a baggy look to its throat area.If it is still making that noise by monday i would suggest making a vet app or just try keeping your heat up for several days.If it does have RI and you catch it early usually you can knock it out by keeping your temps up.Keep us posted

my snakes often make a popping sound after ive soaked them. it could probably just be from the water. i would see if its still there in a day or two.

I completely agree with what Raj said. If you are concerned about your snake or suspect an RI brewing only a vet experienced in herps can diagnose and treat appropriately.
