    He's.. a.. SHE!!!

This is unbelievable; Gobby, my beloved and well known "male" BP is a SHE. I was going into her cage last night to do checkup, and what do I see but 8 EGGS....!
Here is the hysterical part; I had her with LaVay, my male, months ago, in hopes that they would mate; I had been told LaVey was the female! So what we have here is, role reversal; everyone, Goblin is a woman
Kinda awesome, as I bought her years back at a reptile show as a male for $60 USD; by people who "couldn't get rid of him" in the last hour of the sale...
Here are some pics; yes, that is goblin coiled around 8 awesome eggs.

The eggs are doing well, I might add.

    Re: He's.. a.. SHE!!!

Wow what a shocker....so the male turned out to be female and the female turned out to be male???? What a hoot! 8 eggs is a lovely surprise any way you look at it though...congrats and best wishes with them!

Gurgie as far as I know (and I'm far, far from an expert) I don't think female BP's will ovulate without being bred first and if they aren't ovulating they aren't going to produce eggs, even infertile ones. That's my very basic understanding of the norm for BP's. Please someone with a better explanation jump in...I'm still such a dang newb when it comes to explaining something I've not yet witnessed with my own eyes. LOL
