Finally got my talons on a Wacom...

I finally named that last Medusa piece, btw! I did some sea goddess hunting, and Eurynome really seemed to suit the mood and nature of the scene, so I'm calling it "Eurynome's Beacon". Thank you for all your suggestions though! They'll likely inspire future artwork.

Wacoms RULE btw. Remember that Urutu piece I drew a forever ago? I've done two other Medusa's since I drew her because trying to color that pattern with a mouse made me want to spork myself in the brain. For the sake of my sanity, I put her aside. I get my talons on a Wacom, and just a few days later... voila! Finally. It just wasn't possible with a mouse! So here is my very first Wacom colored piece. I am LUVIN it, and this should speed me up signifigantly!

So, sorry if I've missed a lot of posts and such lately, I'm a bit distracted with new toy

Re: Finally got my talons on a Wacom...

Thanks guys! So much wonderful inspiration on this site!

I think this is actually an older Wacom, Smulkin, my best bud from art school stopped by with it saying *somebody* ought to get some use out of it and voila, Wacom for Sheree. She much prefers traditional prismacolor markers and colored pencil. Meanwhile, I've become hooked on more erase-able mediums and given her all my markers, lol. Judy met Amarin, she's a doll. I really can't remember how long she's had this Wacom, she said she's only used it once. Couple years at least, I think.

All I know is, it makes curves a MILLION times easier than the mouse. No more *roll mouse* drat *erase* *roll mouse* drat *erase* ad infinitum to get nice brushstrokes, lol. It feels a ton more like painting, which makes me very happy and my poor inflamed wrist even happier!

Sounds awesome I remember them well! One of these days I'll return my efforts to things creative.

Do you have software that works well with the pressure-sensitivity feature? I am sure the big graphic standards work - Corel (go ahead and light me up for it Adobe folks hehe) had no issues with it. Ye gods that was . . . . .almost a decade ago!! Behold my accelerated decrepitude!

Re: Finally got my talons on a Wacom...

I'm hooked on Adobe mostly because that's what I was trained with, and I am a creature of habit. And yes, it's pressure sensitive and everything and it's so intuitive I was amazed at how fast I got that forest behind the Urutu together.

My Blue Gorgon hat just arrived from Cafepress today too, so I'm extra giddy. Feelin all professional and stuff.

I'd love to see some of your work, Smulkin!
