    Oh boy...I see bad things...

You might want to check out the search feature at the top. This subject has been discussed ad nauseum. The Herpstat 2 has dual probes which is a nice feature. I use Herpstats and love them and lots of people use Helix and love them. Go with what you are comfortable with after comparing the features. Good luck!

    Re: Thermostats

Do you mean two Helix or one Herpstat 2? Personally, I like the Herpstat 2. It has many more options including a built-in night drop, lighting control, etc. However, if something were to go wrong you will have two heating sources fail instead of just one if you had individual units like the Helix. On the flip side, your chances of something going wrong with two units is greater than if you just had one. Probably not by much, but statistically it is increased.

Another negative about the Herpstat 2 is that it relies on an internal fan to keep cool. I'm not a big fan of moving parts in electronic devices because sooner or later they will fail.
