Bad Shed help!
Ok, here is the deal, I saved a snake from a pet shop that was keeping him on sand with out proper humidity. Worst of all, he has just started to go in to shed. So, now he has started the final stage of actually sloughing the skin, only the skin has started to flake off of the tail already. My question is, are there any suggestions to help him get his skin off.

I have been keeping his humidity up and I have one on the way I just think that I was a little late saving him from the pet shop and I think the damage was already done.
I have been misting him but I will try the soaking.

I think some daily soaks might be in order in this case...in addition to a properly warm and humid enclosure. If you choose to soak in a tub of water...make sure the water is not deep enough to cover the snake's whole body (would greatly increase the risk of drowning if the water is too deep) and make sure the water is tepid...which means neither warm nor cold. If it feels warm to your touch, then it will likely feel too hot for the snake.

Nah....I wouldn't think of a bad shed as "damage"....just a rough week for him, is all. With your TLC, he'll be right as rain in no time!

This happened with Monty's second shed as I had failed to mist adeautely.
I put him in a tupper ware box with air holes and a thin layer of water ( not too much or he could drown!) in the hot part of his hide for an hour or so.
His shed didn't rub off but it did moisten enough than I could peal it off in large pieces over 2 sessions. It caused one very stressed snake in the short term but it all came off, since then hes shed jsut fine.
