Relocation
Hey guys!
As you all know, I've been having some major personal problems lately. I'm starting to get a few things worked out---with a minor break-down here and there ---and have been talking to my parents a lot lately.
My father really wants me to come home, and I'm starting to believe it would be the best thing for the moment. I love it here in Columbus and will be sad to leave---it's been my home for four years, after all---but right now I really need to be around my family and people that care about me. So, here's the plan: when this quarter is up at school---only six weeks left, whoot!---I will be heading back to Indiana to spend the summer. While I'll be subletting my apartment to a friend, I will, of course, take the critters home. This presents a minor problem as my mother is terrified of snakes... but dad said I could keep them in the shed, in his office, which is insulated and stays plenty warm in the summer. (I'm hoping this'll give me the opportunity to make her a little less afraid of them, though no way I'm going to force her---plus, I'll have a HUGE backyard in which to photograph!).
Buckeye Gecko will stay Buckeye Gecko... though the location will change. And the geckos will be making the trip as well. My parents are being extremely generous: they're willing to help me out financially as long as I help them get some things done with the house and the yard and my grandmother's property (she has a TON of acreage and dad has fits trying to get it all mowed).
I'll also use the opportunity this summer to search for an apartment and a steady job for the winter months. I'll come back to OSU for one more quarter during Autumn, and graduate at the beginning of December. And then move either back home, or to Indy (I'll get to go to the Indy show for the first time in ages!).
So, that's the plan. I'm really excited about going home, about being able to spend time with my baby niece and take walks with my mom and catch up with my family. But I'm really sad about leaving here... I have so many good memories here, too. And, despite everything, I will miss Frank terribly.
Anyway, I just thought I'd share with you all what will be happening here in the next couple months. I'll be in Columbus until the beginning of June---yes, Jo, I'll still be here with Sev!---then Indiana from June til September, then back to C-bus from Sept. to December, and finally back to Indiana for who knows how long. *sigh* Sounds crazy, but I'm actually really glad I came to this decision.
Also, I wanted to thank all of you for your support. You don't understand how much it meant to me. Thank you so much for being there for me when others couldn't! And sorry for the long post...

Re: Relocation
It's never easy to uproot and move, that's for darned sure. And even harder if you know things aren't going to be settled for many months to come. And I can't even imagine how hard all that is when it comes because of such heart breaking circumstances.
Sometimes the winters seem particularly depressing, long and brutal. But springtime always comes. Hang in there, hon! It sounds like you're taking very positive steps!

Re: Relocation
Sounds like a great plan Lynn! Sometimes it's good to go home and regroup a bit. We'll get Sev picked up on the 5th of May at the next Columbus show as planned as long as that works out for your schedule. Just shoot me a PM and confirm that and we are good to go that way so no worries. Just make sure you pack that computer kiddo, we don't want to lose contact with you once you move.

Re: Relocation
Definately taking the computer with me. My parents may live out in the middle of nowhere, but they have all the niceties of a city: cable and wireless internet. Lol, I don't even have cable here!

Best of luck with the move. I know how it feels to have to relocate and its not fun but if its for the better, thats what matters.

Re: Relocation
I hope evything goes well..sometimes, ya just need to get away and be where everything makes sense.....and for most of us, that is being around folks that are sincere and understanding, and folks that you canALWAYS count on....family. (and that family doesn't have to be blood relatives either) i am sure you'll gget through this, and when you feel the need, just give one of your snakies a hug...just not too hard
