Yipppeeeee!!!!!! He ate!!!!!
After all of the reading I have done on BP net, I was getting nervous about feeding Dax for the first time. He was in a new environment, and we had decided to switch him from mouse hoppers to rat pups. Well we left him totally alone for the first week, except for cleaning and checking, and by feeding day of the next week he was out and cruising around by early evening, I was sure he was hungry. We moved him into his feeding tank, got the rat, and started the zombie dance. I think we startled him because he tucked him head into his coils. We gently stroked his side with the rat and he took his head out and faster than we could believe, grabbed the rat. I had to force Matthias to leave the room, but I thought he would eat better withour an audience. He ate the rat within 15 minutes, we put him back in his tank, and he zipped into his warm hide. I'm so happy he ate, I was worried.
