Lucky Mouse.
I bought two hoppers for Bengal the baby BP to eat today because we were out of adults at work. Well one of the hoppers was just a lab mouse (standard albino) and the other was a nice tan color, with longer hair. I've never really seen a mouse that I've liked and I had no choice but to get these last two.
I threw the lab mouse in first, done in minutes.... I put the little brown girl in there, and Bengal was uninterested. So for tonight her life is spared, The only empty cage that I have is a 40 breeder, so she's got huge digs. I put a food and water dish in her cage, and used some of my tortoise pellets for her food. I figure they are made of grains anyway, so it should be a fine diet.
I haven't decided if I'm going to keep her for breeding, I don't really have a use for pinkies besides with my breeding female leos.
Here's some pictures of the cute little bugger.

Should I save her?

She's pretty, but then I'm partial to that shade because that's Peekaboo's color. I haven't had very good luck w/mice, even though I've had some REALLY cool "pinto" colored ones.
If you need 'em spare her and breed her.
Mine kept eating the litter. She's since been fed, but now I don't have any females and except for P Snake being back on live (he WAS on FT small rats) everyone else eats FT.
< Can U say "waffle"??? > But then again, the reason we have Scabbers, Peekaboo and Smudge rats, is because the snakes wouldn't eat 'em, and now they're pets!

Re: Lucky Mouse.
Mice stink...We had a pet mouse for short time that didn't get eaten one week. My fiance made me keep it until the day it peed on her and bit her. She then had no problem with Scootie being dinner.

Re: Lucky Mouse.
The little mouse became food yesterday. He latched on to my finger, and sealed his fate. Even though he was little he was making quite the mess as well.

Re: Lucky Mouse.
We kept a little mouse that Caeser didn't eat a couple weeks ago. He was in a big, wire cage (left over from a previous pet) so had plenty of bedding and ventilation, but still, within two days, he was stinkin up the whole room. Cute little boogers, but I don't mind feeding them off! LOL
